Manohar has worked for many years with People Tree. He has worked at the shops in Goa in the past and currently helps manage the new shop set up at the University of Delhi. Manohar was part of the 'Thanda Garam' studio in Corjuem,Goa that was set up as support for the shop there. He is an expert at batik and various forms of dye resist, stencil printing and screen printing. Manohar has also mastered the art of making 'bahi-khatas' -ledgers made of handmade paper and fabric. Presently he is involved in creating samples of beautifully crafted bamboo artifacts using his traditional knowledge and skills. He is hopeful of starting a craft cooperative in his village to produce and market these crafts. Manohar is also a talented cook. |
