Sutanu's world is one of conflict and resolution, of dreaming of doing, of doing and being. Having fought his whole life to find his identity, Sutanu puts the emotions of that quest into his paintings, letting the feeling flow onto canvas or paper, and then, he says, "putting the entire thought behind me".

In Sutanu's own words:
After a prolonged period of doubts, denial and fear came the realisation that this physical reality was not true for me. That continuous sense of non-belonging became very valid ,but it also gave rise to an attraction for the two-dimensional world of lines and colours. The play of images – they just come to me effortlessly. And I feel connected to the whole world ,only while drawing, rest of the time I am doing a continuous acting – the act of living...
